Hello everyone! Today’s post, for the Saturday devotion to the Blessed Mother, is a prayer invoking “Mary, Seat of Wisdom,” for assistance in instruction. I figured that – with so many students returning to school – it would fitting to post such a prayer. The prayer which I am posting below, was penned by the great patron (and student himself): St. Thomas Aquinas. Let us pray, that the students of 2011-2012 follow the example, set forth by this wise saint, and find solace and instruction in “Mary, Seat of Wisdom.”
O Mary, Seat of Wisdom, so many persons of common intellect have made through your intercession admirable progress in their studies. I hereby choose you as my guardian and patron of my studies. I humbly ask you to obtain for me the grace of the Holy Spirit, so that from now on I can understand more quickly, retain more readily, and express myself more fluently. May the example of my life serve to honor you and your Son, Jesus. Amen.
-St. Thomas Aquinas

Thank you and don’t forget to offer little acts of love to our Blessed Mother on her special day.
