Hello everyone. Today is the Solemnity of Christ the King. In addition, today is also Saturday, the day of the week dedicated to the Blessed Mother. On this day, when all of Heaven celebrates the royal reign of Christ, I am going to join in their celebration by reflecting on the Queenship of Mary. We all are “a priestly prophetic and royal people, baptized into Christ.” Mary is the “fairest honor of our race.” Thus, though we already celebrated the feast of the Queenship of Mary on the 22nd of August, I find ample reason to reflect on this royal attribute of Mary today, when we celebrate the royal splendor of her Son.
Would you please be so kind as to join me in honoring our Queen, using the words of St. Louis de Montfort.
Prayer of St. Louis de Montfort
Hail Mary, beloved Daughter of the Eternal Father, wonderful Mother of the Son, faithful Spouse of the Holy Spirit.
You are my loving Lady, my powerful Queen.
You are all mine through your mercy, and I am all yours.
Take away everything from me that is displeasing to God.
Cultivate in me everything that is pleasing to you.
May the light of your faith dispel the darkness of my mind, your deep humility replace my pride; your continual sight of God fill my memory with his presence; and the fire of your heart, inflame the lukewarmness of my own heart.
May your virtues take the place of my sins, and may your merits be my enrichment to make up for all that is wanting in me before God.
My beloved Mother, grant that I may have no other spirit than yours, that I know Jesus Christ and his divine will and that I glorify the Lord. Hail Mary, my dear Mother, may I love God with a burning love like yours.
